On sunday morning, I checked all things weather. There was a giant rain bomb combing right for them. So I phoned and said u guys got to get out of dodge now. So they did. Crossing the high ground by teck mine they had constant rain. Waterfalks were pouring off mountains like they had never saw.
Then the looked up and a rock slide had started high up right beside them. By the time it hit the road they were long gone. They drove a bit further and found a slide blocking there way. They were able to get turned around and do a few hr. detour to kamloops. They were headed to revelstoke wherevtgey had a room booked and run into another slide. They got turned around and git a room in little summer resort hotel. No service sration. No food.
In the morning they headed 500 k north to the jasper pass and it was impassible. They got one of the last rooms available and in the morning got through. Edmonton area was terrible snow weather but they finaly made it.
Each day has gotten worse since. It appears that some vehichles were trapped in the slides,
10s of thousands evacuated. Animals destroyed by the millions.
More rain coming. Infrastructures completely destroyed. So weather was the disaster.
It would b nice if tko would give a complete mine status update with strike news. Since they r in upper benches in both pits, once rain quits they should b able to mine. Dewatering will b costly. The big thing is long time port closure and road closure for supplies. Q4 will not b real purddy:))
