Playing hardball now

TNT buying shares for cancellation almost daily now. This is also an indication that no further distribution cuts are likely. I also own MRT who have been aggressively buying stock for awhile now. Can't say it won't melt a little lower with overall market weakness but the buybacks come close to putting in a floor now.

buybacks dont support price.  lots of reits tanked as ncibs are happening...but it no doubt will be accretitive cancelling the 12% payout

an ncib is not allowed to be used to bid a stock higher, it has to be sold into and unsolicated. no idea what ur talking about. canceling 12% payout on commons is a brilliant move, especially if the REIT's fundamental outlook is confident. an ncib demonstrates a degree of market confidence.

NCIB is way better.  Take, for instance, Facebook (META).  It doesn't even pay a dividend.  In 2021, it was trading as high as $378.  Last year, it was a falling knife.  I saw the financials, liked what I saw, and started picking them up at $140.  It went further down to $87, but I ran out of money to buy more.  Zuckerberg introduced an aggressive $40Billion ...more
