Work from home... or not?
Coming into T.O. today around 4 pm.... miles long traffic heading out of the city like it was 2019 but even worse. No reports of accidents. I have acquaintences that told me they had to sign contracts they are working from home and not the coffee shop, the cottage, the mall, the car, etc. If everyone is truly working from home, who are all these people on the road at rush hour?

I agree the toronto traffic downtown is pretty insane...but I have a bearish spin. My own company owns some office space downtown very well located on King street at subway and top floor. Been trying to sublet it for several months to save money and haven't had any luck. Doenst surprise me that we're going into recession and companies are in cost saving mode.

How come you are trying to sublease it?

AP & D both reported office touring volume is at pre Covid levels. Cecillia Williams said she thinks it might be even above historic norms. I talked to Martin Liddell at TNT recently and he told me he is seeing in uptick in leasing activity at TNT and thinks the work-from-home issue is well behind them.
