I post what I know to help any potential readers. The technicals have done well by me and are playing out. In all fairness, information I have posted has and is playing out. i called 50$ by March, it would seem that's going to happen, likely well ahead of schedule. I believe TOU will confirm support above this level in the coming days, however there won't be a breakdown in this thesis nor the technicals for quite some time due to the dramatic rise above all the MA's.
Aside from the technicals, for value investors TOU has a lower P/B and a lower P/E than the following resources companies ENB, CNQ, SU, ARX. I understand P/E doesn't tell the entire story and all these companies have different operations, but comparing some majors to majors in the resources, looking at P/E TOU has a P/E of 8.4
ENB has a P/E of 18.5
CNQ has a P/E of 13.3
SU has a P/E of 22.2
ARX has a P/E of 18.7
The average P/E of those 4 above is 18.17. Tourmaline has a P/E of well less than half the average of those 4 companies. Maybe there are more suited comparables among the majors, however I'm doubtful the result would change.
