1) 40 cents on the $ equtes to nothing for an individual but 60% of a settlement is huge for the 3 or so law firms that take it on. Let me explain
Lets say TRE is worth 1$ per share post bond holders being paid and for distribution post class action
For every 1000 shares I had, I will get 400$ in 3 to 5 years - About 2 % of my money if I bought lets say 18$ and 8% if I gambled in this 5$ range. In 3 to 5 years I get 400$....
If there were 3 legal teams on it, they split about $150 Million - The incentive is huge for the lawyers, almost inmaterial to the small investor.
2) We are using investors $ to fight the class action.
Let me explain that as well
The bondholders are 1st secured position in the company so the resources the compnay must use to fight a class action are at the expense of the shareholders in 2 ways - The equity gets depleted fighting the lawsuit and whats left gets disbursed as part of the class action
My point is - huge incentive for the lawyers to take on a class action becasue the rewards for them are obscene.... The small shareholder is left with the faint hope they will get their $ back when in fact they may get 5 cents on the $ years from now
If you are comfortable in your belief you are helping small shareholders please consider the incentive of those pushing you to sign up investors for this class action you are promoting
