Don't blame Carson Block for this mess. Yes, he is a sleaze, a crook, and a greedy profiteer.
But as far as I am concerned, Sino Forest, its lawyers, the BOD and E&Y should have been prepared to defend themselves in the event that something like this was too happen. They all should have been aware and briefed on all of Sino's operations on a regualr basis. The report from OSC suggests that the BOD had no clue as to what was going on in this company. So they used are money for expensive meetings, where they stuffed their faces with spring rolls and plumb sauce.
Instead of coming out swinging and punching they stood and stared like a deer in headlights and did very little to defend themselves in this mess. Silvercorp was hit with similar accusations and they prevailed.
Like I said in an earlier post, Sino Forest shoud have been able to defend themselves in this type of situation but they were unable to ... Why? Maybe fraud, maybe not. I do know that they are incompetant and a bungling bunch of buffoons.
But please do not blame Muddy Waters for this.
