You guys are blind, dumb or both!!Reading some of the commentary here is just mindboggling! Some behaving as if the CoronoVirus epidemic NEVER happened & everything is all nice & rosy without economic consquences. What many Transat holders fail to understand (or maybe they do but deny) if that there is a Pre-CoronoV & a post CornonaV for the service industry such as airlines & cruiseliners. It seems many here are still stuck in the Pre-CoronaV economy and reality where ignorance is indeed bliss. Whereas Air Canada and the rest of the world are operating in a post apocalyptic Conora environment and are adjusting. I strongly advise Transat shareholders do the same or at least acknowledge those facts.
Just to be real.....you guys are lucky for three reasons. One, that Air Canada has completely pulled out of this deal alltogether. Two, that both the Federal & Provincial Gov't have interceded both publically and intervened privately. Three, that this is still viable and hasn't gone bankrupt already because of the other two reasons stated. For those accussing Air Canada of unscrupulous tactics or aberrant behavior towards this deal, please note carefully that they are NOT under ANY legal requirements or obligations to go ahead or consumate this deal. In addition, they do have a fiduciary duty towards their own s/h to do what's in the best interest of not only the company but them also.
I'm fairly certain that if you found yourselves on the opposite side of the fence, 99% would be arguing for Air Canad's cause instead of bashing them for the stance they've taken. It's unfortunate you guys find yoursleves on the losing side but like they say in french "C'est la vie". So unless some of you have been living under a rock for the last 10 months, i suggest you take the red pill and come back reality.
Good luck to all
