RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:New Forum - Set up and I will set the invite! It is impossible to prevent what you call 'mutation' - you can't stop random acts of nature during chromosomal matching and DNA repair at fertilisation. 

That is all a 'mutation' is.

Evolution is the change over time of the relative proportion of different mutations for the same coding gene in a population. This is often driven by the environment.

So yes, you are right, preventing further mutations in the gene pool would prevent futher evolution in the human population.
