Umax

I have to admit l like the look of this one , and the holdings and the div is excellent. However l have had or seen alot of inconsistency with Hamilton funds.HYLD has been a destroyer of equity and cut the div by about 15% and HMAX recently cut theirs , but only by a small amount while HDIV raised their monthly payout. I have bought UMAX but only a quarter position of 300 shares and l will wait to add more when l see some sort of consistency in the div and shareprice. I will add more when l feel the time is right whether the price is higher or lower but if that div is cut in any way then l am out as l don't intend to becaught off guard like those who bought HYLD above $16.

Well , the time was right added 500 more shares at $1580 and reduced my ACB  considerably .I have no complaints and a nice monthly div provider , all reinvested for the future in this one.

One plus to UMAX is the timing on the release of this ETF is better (the utility sector is in the gutter) so manybe some hope for this one. The timing of HMAX couldnt have been worse (just before banking sector tanked...but there has been some pickup in that sector lately). HYLD just seemed to be a dog from the start and recovery has been very slow). I have not beef at all with HDIV...its a keeper ...more

Sounds like me , l have owned Hdiv for some time and am up nicely with all divs reinvested , l just recently bought UMAX twice in this month averaging down on my ACB and am looking forward to my first div paid in early August. I got sucked in to the Hamilton bowwow known as HYLD but took my knocks rather than hold on to that over rated serial equity destroyer..They can't always be right but ...more

Wish you luck with UMAX & HDIV.  At the moment I don't hold either one but they are great funds but UMAX is a bit too young to judge.  I love it has the 2 Canadian Rails (CPKC & CNR) but I don't like NPI & TRP...... they've been dogs for quite a few months now and may stay that way for the forseeable future.  As for HYLD I held that for about 15 months and ...more

Watching UMAX to add on weakness. This market is due for a good pullback and that should present an opportunity.

Adding some today on this weakness. Been quite the dip since the divvy payout.
