RE:Really share count doesn't mean anything?A company trades at a certain valuation. That valuation divided by the number of shares = the share price. IF a company is worth $5bn and they have 5bn shares, then each share is a buck. It doesn't matter if they have 5bn shares at a buck or 500mm shares at $10. If I want to buy $100K of that company I will get the same % ownership, but the number of shares I own will be different. Nothing is different - share count doesnt matter.
That said - if the number of shares is changing through regular new issuance to insiders or to the market to fund dividends 'a la Crescent Point of 10 years ago' then I should take a second look.
