RE:RE:WEF Key Date

RE:RE:WEF Key Date 70 to 80% of our lumber and other goods go to the USA.  what are you intending,  Shut Canada down ?    That is as silly as the Raging idiot being happy because more workers were laid off at pulp mills.  Only 16 months till WEF could decertify.

The US is not to blame for protecting their industries with tariffs. The fault lies with the people elected to manage Canada (Politicians)   They are not only allowing raw logs to be exported to lower wage country sawmills.  They are constantly increasing the volume.   Which in turn undercuts Canadian plants and costs Canadian jobs.      Presently it is cheaper for the US to acquire lumber from Russia than Canada.   They started buying from Russia in 2012.

Northern russian forests are basically untouched as compared to Canada's   They also have less to contend with in regard to environmental standards, No unions , lower wages  and fuel costs that are 44 to 45% lower than world price.  We are fortunate the US is loyal to it's traditional trading partners and allies as they are.   Most everything Canada produces can be supplied cheaper by other countries.   Try meat from Australia or South America   Where China filled their needs from when they cut off Canadian pork farms.

If the BC government was to put up the same total Timber AAC under an open bid process allotting the sales to the highest bidder.   There would be no tariffs.

The only thing that may be imposed would be an equalizer between the Loonie and the Greenback which would make American products cheaper for the Canadian consumer.
