it is an all share offer , of .6 of a gold field share for each yri share , so if gold fields was trading at $ 10 u.s. , you would have .6 of that  . if you had 10 shares of yri , you would have 6 shares of goldfield , i imagine fractional shares would be paid in cash . to know the value of your 6 shares of gold field , you would need to know the share price of goldfield on the day the yri

tnx for the reply,i do get the .6 of gold field share for each yri share,but when the deal was announced gold field price was $11.59 us and as of yesterday closing was $8.00,that is $3,59 diffrence.how is that going to work??? are they going to up the share swap?? tnx in advance

odds are good unless the yri shareholders reject the offer at the special election there will be no adjustment to the price . that is the big big problem with these bu*% s . all stock deals . on day 1 for the first minute they can say woo hoo its a 50% (pick your # ) premium to the last trading range . and thats true for the first minute of day 1 of the offer , after that , well as you can see

there is 26.39 million short interest on yamana,so there will be a short squeze,a big one before this deal is done.i might sell then,as i have already reached my limit on my rrsp account on american exposure.tnx again
