The people who were shot were attempting to impeded mining activity and the ability of employees to get to and from the mine/operations. I have to sympathy for them.
The local rabble just want more money from Tahoe. People always want to take from the rich rather than go out and work hard to make it for themselves. Guatemala is a 3rd world shithole. The people should be happy to have the money and jobs coming from Tahoe's operation. Instead, though, they want to live like their primitive ancestors did.
Escobal will be up and running soon and we will be making more goddamn money. A handful of savages won't impede progress.
