It is in everyone's interests that this company not get sold for cash, at the bottom of the market.  I can wait out recovery, before I need to get my invested money out.  I don't want a forced loss, right now.

Are the management trying to tell us that this company is essentially bankrupt, and rather than "pass the hat" to raise some money from everybody, to try and salvage everyone's investments, are they just admitting that they did such a poor job of running things, and as a result of a prolonged price crash, that everyone should just throw in the towel, and write-off their investments?

At the same time, while nobody in their right mind would want to sell right now, at the bottom of the market, nobody wants to see the banks swoop in and steal the assets.
