Completing Installation of NRU Kub purchased a new Nitrogen Removal Unit for the RK field in 2018 so that the half dozen or so wells could resume production directly into the capturing system with nitrogen content meeting pipeline requirements .
This was a significant move, as three new wells drilled in 2013-15 had IPs averaging about 350 boepd each but were not significantly depleted when production was suspended in 2016 when the gas blending contract ended .
However, the Manufscturer continued to have problems completing the full install.
On April 17, 2019, the Corporation settled its arbitration claim against Sep-Pro Systems Inc. (the manufacturer of the NRU) and took possession of the NRU.
At that point , the Corporation was negotiating with engineering firms to complete the required process improvements.
Given their balance sheet problems, it appears nothing has been done since then, but with lots of cash now, successful installation of the NRU would transform production from the RK field to its earlier prospectus of volumes of at or above 500 boepd .
In the US, NRUs are used in 25 % of gas wells to remove high levels of nitrogen ..
