Greg Newman - BNN - WAIT

WAIT

Spinout should happen in the fall. South Bow is the more interesting one, could be takeover target. Last quarter was a beat. Too cheap at 12x 2025 earnings, nice dividend, good job executing. Not a lot of EPS growth right now. Sector's done well this month, might need to rest. Likes it, but you don't have to buy it at $53.

Greg Newman thinks that Southbow will be the hot stock! I wonder what the board thinks about that? We've been talking that Southbow will be sold off. But, Greg seems to think otherwise? A little bit confusing? I guess we have to wait for the final analysis to be sure which is the best stock? Maybe just keep both?

Well  newcoin, let's see if there is any interest here to launch a discussion on this topic. Questions that come instatntly to mind: 1) What is the projected growth trajectory for the next 5 years for either company? 2) What are the external factors that could impact growth which should engage us?      e.g. commodity price, interest rates, govt regulations, special ...more

For my portfolio, which is shy on utilities and rich in pipelines (ENB), I will probably sell off Southbow and keep TC energy. I'm not sure that's the right choice for everyone? Portfolios and objectives have to be considered.

However, I am big on dividends and I will have to wait to see how Southbow may fit in. They should be steady and pay a large dividend. I did hear TC Energy say that the original company would have a better growth rate than Southbow.

South bow  expects to pay a dividend of $2.75 yearly.  Source TC management information. This was linked from TC energy page. They also have financial statements etc lots of good info the sedar filing is some 450 pages or there about. Cheers

Very interesting on the $2.75. My calcs at a pre-split stokc price of $56 for TRP comes out to $2.69. I guess they must have done their calc at a higher pre-split price but at least it looks like my calcs are consistent with them. Here's the xls table. As an aside and as I;ve mnetioned, I plan to sell all our SBow as soon as possible and out it all into the TRP. Ciao   Sarge  ...more
