RE:Gov't Of Mongolia (GOM) Is At It Again
The article is a strong reminder of the GOM's ideology that FDI is a sneaky way of stealing their natural resources which they regard as their national treasures. This boneheaded attitude remains frozen in their mindsets regardless of which party comes into power.
The country now is so deep in debt even deeper than the open pit and unless there is a change in attitude and a more cooperative behaviour to avoid bankruptcy and lead to slow and positive economic improvement.
What is the purpose of them owning 34% of OT which they have no active participation??? that's not a GIFT and it has to be repaid !!!
Their only option to recover from this death spiral is to unload their 34% share imho and renegotiate a fair system based on taxes, royalty, licencing, etc, to speedup better revenues to meet their needs under a controlled environment managed  by their creditors.
