RE:RE:Fundamentals Look Great...

RE:RE:Fundamentals Look Great...Short interest I have out of OTC US market was virtually non-existent last year. It was .2 M in January, gradually rising to 1.3 June 15 then down to .8 M June 30, and up to 3.8 M July 15 after big FDA news and bouncing this range to 4.0 M Sept 15 and to 3.5 Oct 15. That is a lot of days to cover! And, this is just what I find listed on OTC TSTIF, not directly Canadian market.

Canadian short interest was 4.1 M in June and fell to 1.7 M following the FDA news, sp rise, and forced short covering by July 15. It has remained in this range to 2.1 M as of Oct 31.

Do you have something more recent?

I have someone checking Monday for latest daily, if possible, but we should have Nov 15 report a few days after next Tuesday.

It just seems odd and interesting that there has been this huge rise in US OTC short interest, much higher than Canadian TSX short interest, with a lot of days to cover in an extremely illiquid US OTC market. Does it not make sense for some US shorters having taken a short position on the run-up following FDA and other positive news to take advantage of a predicted news and coverage lull to drive down the price through margins and stops so they can start gradually covering? They would not be anticipating a squeeze unless there is unexpected news or new coverage. And, this is not to mention Canadian shorters who may have taken a short interest on the run up to 3.60+. (BTW, you can only take out a short interest with my broker on a stock over $3.00 and they will ask you to cover if the stock falls below 3.)
