Lets Talk About Resources - Reserves

Puddles of 3% copper really get the interest up. But how many pudles to yuo need to mine to recoup your costs?

Obviously a hard question to answer before yuo know your costs - but 400-500M is the low end for start up capital costs in my minf. But the thought is a good one to go through once people start talking about minine costs, and grades.

Grades are great - but resources are what mine are built on.

(ore volume X Grade = Resources)

Soor Cor..you keep refering to the   old BAY,..,you mention here having been on site IN Nunavat , and knowing everything about BAY"s  resources and mining potential . I guess your a player from the old BAY, may-be , just a thought here, ,,your one of the reasons the old BAY never got off the ground.  I read here again how you refer to the puddles of copper,..Yet you know ...more

See this is what I am talking about. This is a remote exploration project that HAS NOT STARTED ITS SECOND YEAR, and yuo have people making statements like this; which are not only factually incorrect (costs man) but assume WAY too much about a project that is just STARTING ITS SECOND YEAR OF EXPLORATION. Additionally and you APPEAR to have already chosen your own adventure mine plan wise ...more

You sure do love talking fanciful numbers.. please detail how you arrive at $400-$500 million (low end) for a scoop sort and ship DSO? I’m very interested in how you come up with that number.. .

sure. add up a fleet of 100 tonne truck, two shovels, 3 scoops, a maintenance shop.  add a processing plant, a warehouse, a fuel tank of 10-20m litres, and the necessary replacement parts add a camp, a kitchen,a gym move all this stuff to sommerset island, assemble and you will be over 500m instantly.

Wow those are expensive toys... so why would we need a fleet of 100 ton trucks for as you state A sorter plant that A) we already have and B) Only processes up to 100 tons an hour? We aren’t moving the material very far... and a 10-20 million liter tank? Resolute bay isn’t that far away to top up a smaller tank or several smaller tanks...even Quebec is reasonably close, Polaris ran most of their ...more

100T is a pretty small truck for mining. What do yuo want to use instead an 80T? 40T?  OKay, buy two or three more than I was planning I guess. You recognize yuo dont know what yuo are talking abuot though right?  Resulte Bay isnt that far away? First of all yuo are wrong. Secong of all, do you think they have a gas station in Resolute Bay 0- or an oil refinery? Third of all do yuo know ...more

As teh next week calls fro -20 highs at site - and as the conversation here is ...pointless -  it looks liek we have a little time to discuss the theoretical aspects of mining again.
