Here are my take away from the recent BNN interviews with both CEOs:
BNN's Paul Bagnell has been making the rounds over at Bedrocan Canada right now and the recent interviews, first with CEO Marc Wayne was packed with a lot of information.
BNN interview Bedrocan Canada CEO Marc Wayne April 2015 and with Bedrocan.bv Founder and Ceo Tjalling Erkelens.
BNN interview Bedrocan.bv Founder and CEO Tjalling Erkelens April 2015
In the first interview, Wayne was nervous but relaxed as the interview went on. He sound as if he has a slight speech impediment- a slight stutter that is more pronounced when he is nervous. But it's all good he nailed the main points with his answers.
1. All timelines are being met by the company.
2. Future goal of break even at the end of the year 2015 on only 1/4 facility production capacity. (Very impressive if they do hit that goal. Especially when they are a year behind all the other LPs. I was expecting 2nd quarter of 2016 before break even.) Now we are looking at possibly profits in 1st Q 2016 if all goes well.
3. Both CEOs again reinforced the point that Bedrocan is a Pharmaceutical grade company. Higher than the current medical grade LPs out there. They also touched on the fact that Physicians will be more comfortable prescribing this to patients.
4. Once Canadian domestic production and shipment gets going the margin that Bed.ca gets from sales will go from 35% from the current import model to 80% for domestic.
(And with only a 35% margin to date they are still able to hit their timelines - talk about a lean mean well run company.)
5. Until the US reschedules MMJ to a class II then Bed won't be looking into expanding into the US market.
6. Same thing with the recreational market- Bed's mandate is strictly medicinal for now. So rec. mj is off the table.
(Speculation on who will win the next up coming Federal election and if MJ gets legalized for rec. use is a dice roll. It would be great if it was legalized, regulated and taxed- but elections are like chickens- never count them until they are hatched.)
Well that's the outtake I got from the interviews- good and bad, pros and cons. Is there anything else that you saw of interest? Post em and we can discuss at leisure.
