RE:RE:RE:RE:Read the province today page 10Thanks Dano for your reply, there are actually several tailing areas to be utilized by this open pit mine, many of which surrond the open pit and are above the mine at the 900m level. The main tailing management area is on top of the mountain/plateu sloping area that needs some very robust daming materials. With the non permiable layer there will be a lot of water/soil pressure especially during winter/spring. Yes, world class engineers, but failures happen and when they do, well, blame a jr engineer!
The actuall height is not so much the matter, it's the sloping tailings that are at far more than a 3 degree slope stated.

Anyway, as a former holder of BKM I really hope for the best for John and his backers because they have not, as I have, given up for greener oportunities.
Way I see it, the government, is stuck between a rock and a hard place and looking for a way out of this liberal mess and keep the FN and minering association on good terms. Bugger to which way this will turn out.
