Montana Well

Aparently there was a Montana well drilled last year where flow rates were reported at over 1200 bbl/day, but not by the oil company. It was the native indian band that was involved in the well that released that information.XZA9j

we need to stick to the region gentlemen.  so far no current wells over 250bls a day in the Alberta bakken as far as i'm aware..  like i said, 200bopd would be a fantastic move forward.

Geological formations know no borders Bob. The Montana well and reported flow rates would be in the same structure as what is called Alberta Bakken

Not the case Sonny.  In theory sounds good.  But case in point: the Saskatchewan Bakken.  A few companies learned the hard way--definitely not the same region, nor even close to similar flow rates.  But economics still in place, wells cheaper to drill north, etc. The same applies to our Alberta Bakken.  All analogies to what's going on south are at best that, hopeful ...more

i agree with your logic and your commentary Bob - albeit, I do believe a Shell well may be an exception to the 250bls a day just south of the BWD acreage. also,  I would be most curious to know the MUR completion details. let's not take it foregranted that MUR noted that flow rates would likely increase moving into the overpressure zones of the play. i look forward to ...more
