Thoughts on the NR????

Well, as stated in my post last week we got our news release this week. Good to see the company kept it's word on that.

We did get some information, but the results are still somewhat cryptic/early as not all the frac fluid (half ) has been recovered so far and the 220bpd with 65% oil cut (and climbing as they go) needs to be clarified with seeing what the numbers are after we get all the frac fluid out.  Then we'll see what the real water cut is and decline rate is going forward on production after a month or 2. Once we get that information we'll know the real story, at least for this particular well.

Regardless, contrary to what others on the board stated, that this well would have "bad" results simply based on the SP dropping, I think the results thus far prove the opposite and while not stellar it's a good start.  Besides, you really think that Bowood/Legacy would jointly buy another 9600 acres of contiguous land next to this well if they didn't like the results????

Now to see what the Kipp well results are? Time to hurry up and wait again.

As always, just my humble opinion.

Van

These are steller results for the area Vanboarder.  Do your DD and you'll see what I'm talking about.

I was going to ask the same sort of question. Even though the wait for news has seemed forever and I thought we would  at least get IP 30 or 60 day results we are getting very preliminary results from 15 days when the well is still just cleaning up. I'm not sure why companies are reporting these very preliminary results. Would like to know what the typical trajectory is for ...more

Hate to burst your bubble Bob but these results are  normal results in the area  (which are quite limited as of yet) ,as while some wells have been drilled not alot of information is out there on flow rates esp. on the Canadian side. Actually, if you recall Cresent Points early  initial 3 well results weren't good at all as they had low oil production and high ...more

anything north of 200 is a home run (for the area).  this will likely change a bit as more wells come on line, but waving around numbers like 500 simply isn't showing up in the Alberta bakken, nothing close to this nor does it need to be highly economic..  the american side is a different formation.  The stellar comment was to bring things back into perspective, keeping us in ...more

Last I checked - MUR has 2 wells doing over 400bpd Here's the real question, what is the size of the frac interval? the lateral has a whole lot of room in it.  Second, I think our friends here are not disclosing other completion methods which yielded results as well....

These results are typical of the "better" wells in the play area drilled to date. This is favourable news and helps to confirm the existence of large potentially commercial resource play. Based on regional well results to date I would not expect to see an increase in oil rate as the watercut decreases. The 200+ bopd is likely the maximum rate you will see out of ...more
