Mr. Charles Fipke reports
CANTEX STAKES GOLD CLAIMS ADJACENT NEW CARLIN DISCOVERY IN YUKON
Cantex Mine Development Corp. has staked claims inthe Yukon, Canada.
A new belt of gold mineralization has been discovered by ATAC ResourcesLtd. in the Yukon, Canada: a 175-kilometre east-west-trending zonelocated 100 kilometres northeast of Mayo. The belt was discoveredprincipally by follow-up prospecting and drilling of arsenic anomaliesthat were detected by a government-sponsored stream-sediment survey. The gold mineralization appears geologically similar to Carlin-stylemineralization in Nevada, which is the second largest gold district inthe world. Recent drilling by ATAC has discovered Carlin-type goldintersections of up to 65.2 metres of 4.65 grams per tonne gold nearthe eastern extremity of the east-west-trending zone.
Consequently, Cantex has staked an approximately 1,045-hectare claimblock adjacent to the eastern extremity of ATAC's claim block which ison strike with the recent Carlin-style mineralization discovered byATAC. In addition, an approximately 1,000-hectare claim block has beenstaked over the source area of several arsenic anomalies as reported onthe government stream-sediment maps located 15 km southeast of ATAC'sRau gold deposit, which is situated toward the western end of its staked zone.
Cantex is planning a $2-million to $3-million heavy-mineralexploration survey over unclaimed areas in the vicinity of the beltcontaining the newly discovered Carlin mineralization. In addition, soil sampling and geologic mapping of the newly staked claims areplanned to commence in spring with drill testing to follow. Cantex hasaccess to heavy mineral technology developed by the CF Mineral ResearchLtd. laboratory that has to date detected four Carlin-style heap-leachgold deposits in Nevada that were undetected by analysis of arsenic instream sediments. These four deposits are now active gold mines.
