First, market capitalization is not "money" at all, it's "market value".....no money "vanished" as you say,  but market value did.  The market value decreased because the stock price declined......and I though that was so fundamental, such common sense from looking at the charts, that it would not need to be explained to anyone.  But yes, the stock price declined over time, thus, so has the market capitalization. 

Sorry, no disrespect, but these conversations are so rudimentry, I really don't think you should be making your own investments until you get a bit more framiliar with equity markets and corporate accounting.
