RE:Pierre Poilievre discusses Canada's mining potentialThank you Tess,
Just the part where he says "getting mine aprovals in 1 year instead of 7" got my vote.
But of course we have heard alot of "promises" on the campaign trail before.
Easy to promise but a different ball game to deliver. One thing that he does not even try to adress is the stronghold grip that first nations have on any project on "their land" and that pretty much includes all of Canada.
The canadian government can dictate everything that 95% of canadians do from what we eat, drink, hear, watch and drive and put in place new laws that we have no say in the decision.
But they were never able to "close" a deal with the 5% of first nations and most of the constraints and laws that dictate what most of the canadian population can do, does not apply to the first nation communities.
Nobody denies that Europe conquered and populated north america 400 yeras ago and this game of invade and conquer has been and is still going on since the beginning of "civilized" populations.
But it seems that no Canadian polititian has the chops to adress the "integration" of all of Canada's residents so we all have equal rights.
Do we have to go back to the last ice age to determine what land belongs to who ??
My comments have no racial discrimation weight but are more of a logical way to move along.
The world population grows every year and so does industrialization. All this requires new mining, farming, ect.....
