Halt pending "company news...."

As stated earlier, generally a halt by company request means news like a PP or new contracts, etc., etc. This extended delay has all the markings of bad news, imo. The only good news coming out of this would be they have been bought out or taken private. I would think the CSS is worth something, if it hasn't gone out of date already. jmo

As I mentioned previously, I am shocked that Hack,Lubow and others have not made a legal challenge. Just my impression but we know the previous management has a huge investment but have been silent, it is my feeling there has been a lot of behind the scenes negotiating. The new crowd needs them otherwise they will not get this pig to market. It will also gain market confidence if they reach ...more

Your post is sensible and rational Oldtimer....... but, until  ‘Hack, Lubow and others’ either know for sure 1/The TSX are not going to take their own action against the current BOD in response to the numerous shareholder complaints filed last February and b/ What the current BOD plan to do to move this forward ...... until the there is no point in commencing legal action.

I think something is definitely out of the ordinary, USUALLY a halt pending company news is a few hours in most cases and sometimes a day or two but a WEEK. I'm guessing it's either really GOOD news or it's really BAD. Still thinking good thoughts.

Umm you can't shut down trading for a week while mgmt negotiates a buyout. Maybe for an hour just before the deal is signed. Your idea is not as dumb as Nastro's latest or earlier ones where he thinks the Monday trading will not be preceeded by news though. Or his brilliant idea that the company halted trading news release meant that the Exchange has forced the halt for some unidentified ...more

I guess if cvm was working on a financing that fell through they might not issue news. We will find out within 90 minutes.

That's my thinking.  Either that or the TSX is taking action at long last against them.  Either way they are clearly not in control of the release as you don't have a trading halt at the company's request pending news. I'll take either of those options frankly.
Comment by woundedknee on Nov 06, 2020 7:50am
Nastro, your first point is taken, but it was halted by the company and not the commission. And yes, the halt was made by the company.
Comment by Nastro on Nov 06, 2020 9:02am
Yes I know but they could possibly have been told by someone at the TSX they were going to be receiving some form of censure or notice of investigation but they just haven't had it in writing yet?  No idea really but I've never known a trading halt at the request of the company pending news take anything remotely as long as this.  Most are 2 hours or next day.  Then again ...more
