RE:Rapid testingI'm in BC as well.
Yes they have. Also spit test discussed a few times not approved in Canada.
He has stated a few time Health Canada is not approving the sale in Shopper's Drug Mart, Vending machines etc like other countries. Germany stores sells them cheap. I mentioned previously I see in Walmart in USA its quite cheap for take home kits.
I see Costco is selling in Ontario, but appears that province only. I'm not clear if they mean you need to take it there or can take it home, but likely you need to take it within Costco.
My theory is most people will do it wrong and or not fool proof enough that people won't quarantine and spread. By the amount of ways I've seen people wear masks incorrectly it might not be surprising. In all fairness countries like China/ Japan I've been to or lived, its ingrained in the culture when someone is sick they should cover their mouth/ nose.
In North America, I'd guess most people have never worn one in their life.
On a sidenote I was given a take home kit by a doctor who was looking for reviews for it from Health Canada. It was China made so its not the DM Korean version.
It was easy to do and when the kids got the sniffles. They didn't enjoy it, but I did.
I could imagine a lot of people not wanting to put it far enough in their nose due to pain, but when I did it, it showed enough sample and was negative for covid.
Maybe one day, but who knows when.
If government supply for those mentioned places schools, workplace etc require that's fine too as they will supply them and need a source. Let's hope DM gets it.
