DM's niche market strategy DM's slogan has been 'land and expand' but I think equally applicable would be 'pitching to the niche'...trying to unite my inner marketer and poet.
I think many of us have been concerned about DMs ability to take their nacent verticals up against more established players. But look at what they did with COVID, having become an incredible player in the Canadian game by addressing the film industry niche. It's a small part of the pie, but became so profitable for them.
They are now using their pitch the niche strategy in the EV market (with the RV announcement) and Medi-Call (with the student market). Taking a large slice of a small corner of the market.
I have been thinking of these new verticals as a real long game, but now I'm less certain. Can't wait to see how this small team manages to continue their dominant trajectory.
