How will they "Bring Me the Money?"
I think the home garage charger thing is well covered and very competitive. It's already a "lower cost product wins" kind of race and that means a queeze on profits in that area. I think the trucks on the road are not meant to make a lot of money in the sale of the electricity. If they follow the American model the charges are an emergency top up for 100 miles of range - so not that much electricity being sold. There might be a service call fee to generate some revenue but the real revenue would come from a monthly membership fee if they can get people to sign up for a monthly fee. It's like paying for an insurance policy that will save you if you do run out. Most people will seldom or never run out of electricity but may pay for the security of knowing they would be saved if they did. This comes back to my earlier guess that a car company might pay that fee on behalf of EV purchasers to attract customers that are bothered by range anxiety. Finally if you watch the Korean promo video it shows installations of multiple car load sharing (DM's differentiating technology) EV charging stations in residential parking garages. This will be where the market has to go. If no ICE cars are being sold in 10 years then everyone in a condo or apartment will need these installations to service the EVs that park there. You can't have people hanging around to move their car in and out of a charging station and so the DM system will likely let almost everyone plug in to the system and DM AI will balance the charging load, shut off charging to cars that are done charging and be capable of taking care of an entire building without setting up individually powered charging stations. I think they said up to 80%savings on infrastructure. This is the big market and almost no one is addressing this condo/apartment building issue except DM. So that's my speculation for the morning. Show me the money MG! GLTA!
