It is great to see things on the EV side moving, the $20 a month price point is very good.

I do not understand why anyone would pay $20/mo for a limited & local charging service when I can get a CAA for $90 a year for a multitude of services across Canada. Help me understand how that business model works.

Does CAA even include EV charging in their subscriptions? I looked up CAA EV charging and roadside assistance and only saw the service offered in Quebec. If I lived in BC and owned an EV i would want the cheaper subscription, and the service that actually specializes in the field.

So you want CAA then? Not DMEV @$20 a month?

If that's the level of your reading comprehension then that explains a lot.

CAA will tow to the nearest charge station.

You did say the cheapest solution.

I would rather do the 90 dollars for a year with BCAA than 20 dollars per month with DM . Once you're a Member, BCAA Roadside Assistance can help in two ways if you run into car trouble: If your EV needs a charge, we'll tow you to a charging station or back to your home. If you need engine or mechanical repair, we'll tow you to an auto service centre for repair.

Did say IF lived in BC and IF owed a EV. So I guess lives in mother's basement and rides a bike to get around.

Real original there, I live in a different province and drive an ICE vehicle currently (not for very much longer). Sorry to hear about your living situation that you are trying to project onto me.

I'm guessing that your capital ICE vehicle is your good vehicle and your upgrading to your bicycle or electric bike I'm assuming.

Actually my ICE vehicle is far from good and is a liability with numbered days due to an issue that arose thanks to poor engine design (class action type of issue). Funny enough it is an issue that could never occur in an EV vehicle.

Link? I only saw EV services offered for CAA in Quebec, nothing for BC

They will just tow you to wherever you want to go , no matter what the problem is , thats what BCAA is all about.

Only within a very limited distance if you are on basic plan (no more than 10km). The plus plan is limited at around 45km I believe and costs quite a bit more than the basic plan. Varies by province though.

Call BCAA as it may depend on how long you have been with BCAA or your a new client....not sure.

My wife called CAA as she has an EV. They provide free towing to the nearest charging station within (I believe) 75KM. If she needs a further drive there is a cost. And that's across Canada. Free KM's vary depending on the plan you sign up for. That is across Canada. I honestly do not see how DMEV's business model works. Please fill me in!

wouldn't your wife prefer a service vehicle just show up and charge her battery instead of towing her vehicle some distance to be charged . time wasted in towing , etc.

we're talking about "charging" a battery not fender benders, what if your wife was impaired , why would she call DM ? the twisting of statements is happening, lol

Not twisting and I do not like your driving drunk analogy one bit - that is a jekrofff thing to put in writing. Anyways, CAA offers a one size fits all solution to all possible car issues that might across Canada for less money than what DMEV offers for only 1 issue that might arise within a relatively small area in Canada.

why be "towed" to get your battery charged when as service vehicle can charge it on the spot? that is what i originally pointed out, no one mentioned fender benders. who cares if you don't like impaired statement, fact is , DM has nothing to do with fender benders or impaired drivers, or flat tires or anything you would like to add on.simply talking about charging a battery,

Ghtechy 05/18/ 8.36 is excellent read re laesing of vehicle or buying, capital cost of charger salaries of driver for 24 hours. ( I believe EV charging was advertised for 24 hour service, I stand to be corrected if wrong) At $20 per month how much revenue needed to break even and not run at loss for 3 vehicles???? We should know in next year cash flow for EV unit.
