Well #4 Permit Application/Approval Timing Info

I pulled the well application/permit recently approved for well #4.  The application was filed on April 21, 2021 and was approved by the Arizona Oil & Gas Conservation Commission on April 28, 2021.

Here are the application and approval dates for the other DME drilling permits (from 2020):

DME Well        Application Date                  AOGCC Approval Date
#3                    November 9, 2020               November 18, 2020
#2                    April 26, 2020                       May 15, 2020
#1                    April 26, 2020                       May 15, 2020

I am quite encouraged that it only took 7 days for the AOGCC to approve the most recent drill permit after the filing of the application, and none of the 2020 permits took more than 3 weeks to be approved..  It doesn't appear that DME will need to wait long for approval after it submits applciations for wells #5 and #6.

However, I was a bit surprised that the application for well #4 was not actually filed earlier than April 21 (presuming that it was delays at the AOGCC that was holding things up).  I wonder what the gating criteria is for the timing of the company's filing of additional applications for drilling permits as we move forward.

Hi HH. Always appreciate your posts and your research. Regarding submission of the 4th permit, I believe it took place in late March. Without going into too much detail, there were some serious staffing issues at the AOGCC and my guess is that DME's application basically sat in someone's inbox for a month. However, that latter point is speculation on my part....

Thanks, Bertie.  My analysis on this stock has really been helped greatly by contributions here from you and others, and I'm glad for my part to contribute what I can to the collective effort. I also thought the 4th permit had been submitted earlier.  However, I'm looking at the appliation right now, and Robert clearly dated it 4-20-21 immediately below his signature (there is ...more

Hmmmm, even more curious. I wonder....there was literally no one to approve the permit for a few weeks towards the end of March, so perhaps DME were told not to file it until the AOGCC were ready to process it. But I'm guessing. The more pertinent question is: where is that permit for well 5? With well 4 likely to be complete in less than a week, DME will need that permit if it wants to keep ...more

I'm focused on the same question, and hoping there is some imminent news about a new permit so the rig can move over to #5 as soon as its done with #4.  There clearly doesn't seem to be a long delay from application to approval with the AOGCC (which is good), but that also means the permit for #5 should already have been approved if it had been submitted by DME more than a week or two ...more
