Ltd. of South Africa for June, 2001. Crushing and processing of 7,000 tons produced 334.97 carats of diamonds because of more improvements in the recovery process that have been implemented. The following results have just come in from the So Ver diamond mine. The results are very encouraging news as it shows the mine increasing its production as planned: one octahedron stone -- 5.56 carats at $1,600 (U.S.) per carat; eight octahedron stones -- 24.20 carats at $400 (U.S.) per carat; 14 octahedron stones -- 30.50 carats at $180 (U.S.) per carat; 48 octahedron stones -- 27.21 carats at $120 (U.S.) per carat; 68 octahedron stones -- 20.10 carats at $70 (U.S.) per carat; chips -- 95.20 carats at $45 (U.S.) per carat; second-grade chips -- 104.20 carats at $7 (U.S.) per carat; and bort -- 28.00 carats at $1.00 (U.S.) per carat. The total is 334.97 carats. Management is confident by implementing certain improvements as suggested regarding the installation of a scrubber at the feed side and a sortex at the final recovery, production can be increased to process 20,000 tons per month which could easily produce 1,000 carats per month. Management is also pleased to report that it has now also added two shifts of 8.5 hours each as they previously announced it had planned, which will increase production significantly. The company is also planning on prospecting and mining to build up a certain production level for the next 10 years. The company is also aggressively pursuing other acquisitions of producing diamond mines in South Africa to increase its portfolio of producing diamond mines.
