I am down 89% as of today...

I bought near the peak based upon those who were promoting this stock. The same posters are promoting the stock today. With no apologies!

The good news is that this investment was less than 1/4 of 1% of my investments.

All I will say is Buyer Beware to those listening to the promoters...

The Good news for you is that you can only lose 11% more at this stage. The other good news is that you can sell your 100 shares and take a tax loss. But buy the way you are trading you may not need it.

We are also down on most of our portfolio this year but I would never blame someone on a bull board for my losses. You should do your own due diligence and only blame yourself for poor performance. You did not tell us how the rest of your 99.75% of your portfolio is doing. You must be having a great year! Lol

Cry-baby Gord from Alberta....I would recommend that you sell your couple hundred shares....put the money in a GIC and delete your Stockhouse account...I am sure that you will sleep better after that Gord...Glta.

My profile shows "Dividends first. 85% invested in eit.un paying more than 10% annual cash; on a monthly basis." You can call people names if it makes you feel better about yourself. Yet I am pulling in a pretty penny on a monthly basis. Just pointing out that pumpers of this stock have no idea what they are talking about... ;-)

Question:  How does EIT.UN manage to pay a 0.10 distribution per unit per month (which equates to around a 10% annual "yield" like you said given a unit price of around 12.00) when none of their top 25 holdings (scroll down the web page and click the down arrow on "Top 25 Equity Holdings" if you wish to do so) have paid anywhere near a 10% yield over the past 12 months.. ...more

The simplist way to explain is: https://www.fool.ca/2020/05/06/can-this-14-1-yielder-maintain-its-generous-dividend/ My wife & I hold this EIT in our TFSA's. I also hold it in my RRSP. The unit price per share today is $12.50 as you can see on the EIT.UN webpage you referenced; it was $8.82 per share when the Motley Fool article was written almost 2 + 1/2 years ago. My purchase price in ...more

I think the reason this closed-end investment fund's unit price is up is because the share prices of the portfolio of stocks it holds has likely risen substantially as a whole since you bought it over 2 years ago. However, if they are in fact selling shares to maintain the distribution and the share prices of these stocks fall in a bear market, they will either be forced to keep selling shares ...more

We started buying EIT.UN more than 5 years ago. This was not a spur of the moment decision. I accept that there are others much more intelligent than I am... Those running EIT.UN have proven that for more than a decade... Two years ago their holdings went fairly heavily into oil & gas stocks while other investors were runing away. They purchased their top oil stock "Tourmaline" ...more

They use covered calls (and make money via on the call premium). They are a lot of stocks like this, similar yields too like ZWC etc. The new popular one is HYLD (.to) not the NYSE one. With the stock prices now, its over 14% yield.

I have no doubt that some of the promoters here are insiders one way or the other. The fact that insiders are not buying these levels and you have people promoting the stock leads to conclusion that they are either insider, paid promoters or notorious idiots beyond repair.
Comment by Dartmam32 on Sep 27, 2022 8:27am
I think notorious idiots beyond repair is the most accurate

Ooops - Dartmam!!  She's been a pumper for way too long and definitely does not like negative posts, no mater how accurate they may be. mugs

Mr Mugs. I did not say he was not accurate. I agree with Mr Slowcook that this could go to zero in a few years. Numbers don't lie and Mr Slowcook did a good job in showing last year's losses. I just don't want my husband to buy any more shares but I know if Doc goes lower he will continue to buy. I often wonder why people like you that don't have any shares waste their time with a ...more

Everybody, should bring decision on their own, and it'd better be backed up with homework. Now, we are in recession, interest rate hikes.. all stocks are getting hammered. Small cap is total disaster.  famous promoter Bruce Campbell was on BNN yesterday.. and he used to be followed on the board a lot. He is a big time loser. Chech his past pics and he says what he says last time for ...more

Dartmam32...Mugs and Slowcook are fear mongorers... they are probably shorting the stock....being negative nurtures their position. I don't see DOC going to zero. I owned PHM...known at the time as Patient Home Monitoring(junior healthcare stock) I bought at low levels and made significant profits....the stock got to levels similar to DOC... they eventually re-structured...which meant a ...more

That's not true... I own PHM and Convalo.. I got long before they went to garbage.. PHM got split and you got next to nothing for you investment. You just gave perfect case of failed rolling acquisitions in healthcare. Similar here.. there you had CEO using friends and family to cach stocks while they were high. After that crashed .. and the same case with Convalo.. Old guy recommending them ...more

Dartmam...Serious question...did you, your husband Guenther or his investment buddies have spoken to Karen or Julia regarding DOC?
Comment by Dartmam32 on Sep 28, 2022 10:49pm
My husband and his friends are some of the largest shareholders of DOC and they have spoken to management many times. I have said it many times that they are investing in Karen Adams not DOC. However, unlike many on this and other sites they are very patient and understand that it will take time to turn this around. Having said all this there are no guarantees and anything can happen. And as ...more
