Alternate Symbol(s):  ELBM

Same old, same old

Nothing new being posted here.  Just the same tactics over and over again by the numerous penny flippers looking for pizza money.
Cobalt is not going away anytime soon despite all of the noise on this subject.  LFP batteries are only used in short distance or low end vehicles.  Case closed. The industry is looking to improve the distance on electric vehicles in order to appeal to the north american market.  LFP batteries may be a good short term solution for the European market due to the short distances they drive, but is not  viable for the average north american looking to make the switch.

Well said Marshall. Cobalt is not going anywhere. I am remaining long. Just need to be patient for a year or more longer to fruition.

I am not one of the penny flippers and day traders, just figured I should mention that.

https://www.reuters.com/technology/battery-giant-catl-weighs-buying-10-stake-miner-jinchuan-bloomberg-news-2021-08-26/ CATL (LFP battery cells) is still in talks to join the Jinchuan Group (cobalt miners). Information about these talks has been circulating again for a few days. Unfortunately I don't have a current link. I expect there will be interesting news here.

I said it a long time ago that vertical integration would be the theme going forward.  The same thing will and needs to happen in north america in order to remain competitive.

Thought I would add that iron phosphate batteries are actually horrible in colder temperatures. They are terribly inefficient and are prone to freeze up at sub zero temps

There isn't a one size fits all battery technology out there.   They all have their applications and benefits so don't get carried away with the idea that one type of battery is going to be found in just about everything out there.  So there is no point in debating this to death, although I suspect some will feel compelled to post more promotional type articles.
