Fed Money
The Feds should be covering the cost of the plant, at least the first stage, to help grow their investments in Canadian battery plants. I could see a POSCO stepping into the picture (e.g. owning a piece of E3) to encourage movement in this direction by the Feds. It'd be a huge win for Canadian EV manufacturing capabilities, and POSCO already has its foot in the door.

Would they have to pay money back or just suck on tax payers tit, Bombardier has gotten more than 4 billion over the years, nothing paid back. And that is only 1 example. Not a big fan of corporate welfare.

I'm hoping for a grant. I'm willing to make an exception ;-)

Bombardier is in Quebec. Liberals love buying those votes.

Small correction - politicians love buying those votes. The Mulroney and Harper Conservatives are as guilty as the liberals. But yes, it's Quebec, the rules are different.

Look at TransMountain pipeline.....talk about a fiasco. Never say no to free money with no strings, but this government has botched pretty much everything it has touched in the past 9 years. Someone is long over due for his walk in the snow. E3 will need better management to get this out of the ground smartly.

I hate to be the one supporting the government on these things, but TransMountain was way behind schedule and over budget long before the Libs bought it out. It would not have been built at all without them.

No argument from me there, Yajne. It takes a government to slog through the government red tape. Private industry never had a chance with TransMountain in this day and age. Just saying they did manage to get it done.
