well pretty much..

manipulators brought the price down in the days following the spin off (while gold was up)

tax sellers panicked and started selling too and now more people selling till new year

how to manipulate the stock 101 ..

but accoring to some people here if you are long just don't watch it so it deosn't feel as paniful ;)
