San Juan.- The director of the Special Fund for Agricultural Development (FEDA), Hecmilio Galvn, inaugurated a grain processing plant of the La Ceiba Corn Producers Cooperative , with an investment of more than RD 7 million, in the community of Pedro Corto, San Juan de la Maguana.
The construction of the corn shelling plant was completed with the support of the government of President Luis Abinader, through the FEDA, as part of the commitment with the producers of the field. It will benefit small farmers in Pedro Corto, generating direct and indirect jobs .
The event began with the words of Benito Bid, president of the La Ceiba Corn Producers Cooperative, who framed the inauguration of the grain processing plant within the great achievements and contributions of FEDA in San Juan de la Maguana.
When delivering a speech at the event, the FEDA director said that the delivery of this sheller is the beginning of the work that the Government is doing through the aforementioned institution to benefit small and medium-sized corn producers.
He indicated that the Government, through FEDA, works tirelessly to bring solutions to the country's agricultural producers , in order to bring wealth and development to the different communities. An example of this is the La Ceiba Corn Producers Cooperative.
Galvn pointed out that the delivery of this plant to the cooperative is already a reality and the community will achieve its development through the provision of raw material for the preparation of balanced food to farmers in the southern region and the country .
Present at the event were Vctor Manuel Nova, regional representative of the Institute for Cooperative Development and Credit (IDECOOP); Golqui Fernndez, director of the Institute for the Development of the Southwest (INDESUR); Alejandro Alcntara, representing Governor Elvira Corporn; Carlos de Len, provincial of FEDA; Ana Mara Castillo, regional director of Presidential Management; Daniel Quiterio, regional FEDA, and Colonel Manzueta, from the National Police.
