@Burlguy Patience...Folks.

I finally spoke with someone in the know. In order not to jeopardize the trust that was given to me, I am not at liberty to discuss who it is, they specified this. They do read the forums. The new mining laws that are being ushered through congress need to be in place. It will assure that the districts where the mining takes place will receive a percentage of the tax money 5%, and that it will be put into a fund benefiting the community. There was allot of corruption in country and that was much of the community outrage, knowing full well that their community would not receive the benefits entitled.

Goldquest is grandfathered in with their previous application so there will be no change in profit margins. The laws are very similar to the previous set, this has been explained to me. We are very close...

I have nothing left to spend or I would be buying. I hope to have an update that I can share late tomorrow.

 I could add more but it would be conjecture. There are several things that may be explained tomorrow. I am excited but I cant start talking like I know when the signing is happening. Mr Almonte is working tirelessly and there is some info provided by the MEM that confirms whats happening. You just have to dig. Between Phone calls, emails and my own diligence its on the way!!! @Burlguy Thank you for your well measured update -- I actually like the approach of passing the new mining law with a detailed process on how local communities will benefit from mining projects and how that community fund will be managed. This new administration will have to demonstrate how they will be different from the corrupted administration before them, putting half of the Medina family on

The published video which showed the permit discussions 2 years ago also disclosed that it was the intent of the previous administration to give an enviromental assessment study to a neutral consulting company outside the DR! I wonder if this assessment was ever done and is still useable today? This ought to help GQC management to speed up their own study and in this way  also shorten the

With the exploitation permit in hand GQC will go ahead and hire an external firm to perform the environmental assessment-- Miguel in that video was referring to the fact that usually these environmental assessments are not performed by the mining company, they hire an

Did the new mining law already pass the Congress and is it now already effective?  If not - this might be the only reason that the permit is not issued yet!?

Well the cat is out of the bag.... It really is a resposible mine and will be built to modern standards. It will benefit the community greatly.

This is great news! Whoever had the idea to incorporate a community benefit for the people living around future mining activities is a genius! Well done! With this new clause  in the Law there ought not be any more doubt that the permit will be issued after the new Law comes into effect!
