VAN, Gold and PNG

VAN, Gold and PNGI've been in VAN for about 4-5 years now. I too am dissatisfied with the stock performance, given all the "pokers in the fire" VAN has. Not to mention they actually EARN an income. They actually HAVE a P/E. With that said, I fly for a living. Helicopters. I've never worked in PNG as they prefer to use Kiwis and Aussies in order to keep the roundtrip plane ticket costs down for the rotation of pilots in and out. But while working in the middle east, I worked with an EX-American (now Australian) pilot who worked on the main island of PNG back in the '80s. I mentioned to him that I held stock in a couple of companies doing Au exploration in the neighborhood. He related the following story to me. While working at a logging base, he flew all over the island, hauling workers, supplies, etc.... One small village near an "old gold mine on a hill" was wiped out one evening during heavy rains. A mud slide caved over the village and covered it up. He said 1/2 the mountain just slipped away and caved in. Several villages nearby were involved in running through the muck looking for survivors. My buddy was also dispatched to the site in the event they needed to airlift anyone out to a hospital in (Port Morseby, I think it was). Anyway, to make a long story short, the villagers that arrived to help out were walking up to him showing him GLASS MASON jars full of GOLD they had plucked from the mud. My buddy said they looked like "DOG TURDS" they were so big! Stupid me, i failed to ask him the exact location of the ville as I was mesmerized by his story of DOG TURD sized nuggets being plucked by locals. Anyway, it may not be on the Feni's or Mt. Penck, but PNG DOES HAVE THE GOODS. I have no reason not to believe him. He is a very honest guy (61 years old), now retired to Australia. Take it for what it's worth, but with everything VAN has going, I just look at the current RIDICULOUSLY LOW SHARE PRICES as nothing more than a grand opportunity to add to my position. I own several hundred thousand shares and continue to buy!
