CALCITE COPPER -

CALCITE COPPER - In Hawkeyes pics it shows  a form of calcite and malaachite  = copper.

In the metallurgiclal report belo
it describes how - calcite  was difficult to float - in sulphuric acid.
The report speaks of using3 type of ores with copper - oxide, transition, sulfide.

EXCERPT -
Acid consumption tests on three individual ore types (oxide, transition and sulfide) to determine if the acid consumption is economically
applicable to all ore types.

WHAT IS CALCITE ?
CALCIUM.

WHERE WAS SOME OF HAWKEYES COPPER FOUND ?
IN CALCITE.

HOW DOES CALCITE REACT WITH SULPHURIC ACID ?
The reaction of sulfuric acid with calcium metal produces a coating of calcium sulfate (CaSO4) on the metal. Since the calcium sulfate is insoluble in water, the coating acts as a protective layer thus preventing further attack on the metal by the acid.

HOW DOES CALCIUM CARBONATE REACT WITH SULPHURIC ACID ?
With other words: Calcium sulfate acts like a protective layer. CaCO3 reacts with H2SO4 but he reaction does not go further due to the formation of the layer of CaSO4 on the surface of CaCO3.

QUESTION POINTS TO -
Did the lab assay lab - only use sulphuric acids to solubilize McBride ores ?
If by chance they only used suphuric acid ...

LET'S NOW ASK - .
where is the copper found in some of McBrides ores  =  CALCITE.

BEST ACID FOR CARBONATE COPPER ?
hydrochloric acid will fizz when it is in contact with carbonate minerals such as calcite and dolomite or carbonate rocks

Really good copper sample testing seen in - 2018.
Nice copper percentages.
Host rock seen in pics with malachite + calcite = copper.

Maybe this little junior should pull some cores sections forward
from  2019 drill campaign.... check them again with - HCl - Acid...?

Just tryting to help the junior out.

Cheers....
