What is pumping?

What is pumping? Is pumping - putting out lots of news releases - stating total users comparison with Facebook after 4 months, 6 months, 7 months, etc... ?
This company needs to start setting up accessiblitly to their software through the many different sources like; linkedin, facebook, etc.
This company killed a lot of peoples cash, think of the people who bought at the highs of $3.25/share - (on that day I think it even reached $3.35 and traded >50,000,000 shares) they will never ever get their money back even if they own it 25 years from now... or will they, how high will this stock go in the next 3 years? They need something pretty special to come out popular....
