The Keyser Group started in Evergreen Park, Illinois in 1965 as Florida Plastics International, the Midwest sales office of a company selling injection-molded plastic products.
Founder Donald Keyser saw an opportunity to "build a better mousetrap" for a small chain of fast food restaurants. Don created a prototype of a new menuboard and went to see the head of purchasing. Don was offered the McDonald’s account on the spot, the deal sealed with a handshake.
In time the Florida Plastics became the exclusive supplier of indoor and outdoor menuboards for more than 14,000 U.S. McDonald’s restaurants, along with many more McDonald’s locations worldwide. The relationship that began with a handshake has held firm through more than four decades.
Today, Florida Plastics is just one of several businesses that make up Keyser Group, a family of companies now owned and led by Don’s sons, Bill and Dave Keyser. Keyser Group’s distinct business units leverage the company’s visual merchandising success and serve a diverse range of customers with "best-in-class" expertise in local store marketing and merchandising solutions. |
