Contrarians as a rule buy when everyone else is selling or when everyone else is doing nothing.
As a conrarian you must be buying when it is over hated and selling when it is over loved.
Having said that you must also buy things that are a worthy risk.
That is why I say in depth due diligence is absolutely a must. Not cursory DD but in depth investigative journalist style of due diligence.
Case in point... Yesterday I was looking for an old geologist report I remembered seeing a few years back. While searching the internet for this report something caught my eye...I said to myself...I know this property XYZ company now owns that property.
I opened the link and found something that nearly stopped my heart.
My point is ....don't just invest money....invest time....
Also remember that even with intensive DD...you will still make mistakes and you can never time developments...
Good things only come to those that wait.
