Sell on news?

Sell on news? Just wondering something ... Often we hear, buy on rumour, sell on news. This may be an all time case of the rumour taking hold since JS made an early announcement on Guariques. So if we look at a worst case scenario, a lot of the promise of SOR may already be priced in, once an announcement is made, the price could drop. That is why people sell on news, the rumour tends to have limitless potential, the news quantifies the upside - even it it is good news, the rumour always sounds better - there is unlimited upside until you get the actual numbers. In this case, we have a huge rumour, a huge run up this week, a somewhat speculative play. On good news, the price may still drop. On disappointing news??? It makes me wonder how anxious we should all be about this expected news release. z
