US Li imports up YoY (need for NA supply?)

US lithium imports were up 69% YoY →https://www.spglobal.com/marketintelligence/en/news-insights/latest-news-headlines/us-lithium-imports-up-69-yoy-in-q1-as-automakers-build-out-ev-battery-capacity-70486646

Considering that demand is up and the US has sanctions against Russia (a large Li supplier) IMO the US is in desperate need of North American-sourced lithium.

One of my top Canadian Li picks is LithiumBank Resources ($LBNK.v $LBNKF). This company has vast prospective lithium brine lands in Alberta and Saskatchewan and it has a focus on using the most up-to-date DLE extraction methods.

$LBNK's flagship project, Boardwalk Lithium (located in Alberta), has a total inferred mineral resource of 5.9M tonnes of LCE at an average grade of 67.1 mg/L.

With this Boardwalk is thought to have the potential to become the single largest contiguous source of direct brine elemental lithium in tonnage.
