RE: RE: Making Ethanol Profittable...

RE: RE: Making Ethanol Profittable...GPRE is profitable due to its diversifed revenue streams, including petroelum and agri-businesses.
Here is what it had to say re ethanol margins....

"Similar to last year at this time, forward ethanol margins are compressed during the middle of the year with no clear visibility of acceptable margins "
It is clear that few if any of the food-based ethanol producers can make a go of it.
Conversions to second generation biorefineries is inevitable.

From such a failed business model comes opportunity for Lignol.
This could be by way of JV ( as with PEIC ), or  thru the acquisition of a operating refinery that can be converted to Lignol's model or thru a RTO.
The obvious path is a JV with Novozyme which would combine the enzymatic processes of Novo with the pre-treatment process of Lignol along with its lignin patents.

Sunopta is another possibility, as they provide turn-key refineries.
