Cash deal?

A newbie/uninformed question for the group. Why did LIX not trade closer to the cash offer of $2.61 today? What are we waiting for besides confirmation by a 2/3 shareholder vote in February. If not approved I suppose it could slide lower, but isn't there also a chance of a competitive or hostile bid from one of the big LI players?

I was in lithium one many years back, I wasn't happy with current chairman who was ceo of lithium one at the time. I am not LIX's SH, I dont like the deal. The shareholders are sold out short. From the SP response, there will be no counter bid comming, otherwise, SPshould be higher than the offer. It is normally lower than the offer price, and will gradually close the gap when close to the ...more

To me, selling out at this stage of the game causes me to ask if: - mgmt and BOD didn’t think they were going to add much value with further development and want to spend their time elsewhere. - they recognize with the number of quality new entrants, they no longer have a top-tier project. - maybe there is something physically wrong or disappointing with the project that is causing them to ...more

Hope this deal closes, but I guess the market feels there is more uncertaintly with a company from Asia being the buyer? I don't own LIX directly, but my investment in Aberdeen International holds 6M shares of LIX. If the deal goes through as planned, just the LIX sale proceeds would nearly be the market cap of Aberdeen. Then all the other investments are basically free. Hope the deal closes ...more
