Response from Medallion

Response from Medallion These are my questions: From you interview yesterday it sounds like you will enter execution phase in 2022.
1) Do you have a target when you will start to build the process on site?
2) How long will it take to build a site.
3) Do you expect to start producing /selling REE in 2022 or is it 2023?

RESPONSE:
We are aiming for all the critical decisions to be made before or during 2022. This is scale of the operation;
location;
funding;
monazite sourcing;
off take…..etc.

The key one there is the location and the associated permitting. We are looking at a range of permitting alternatives. It is hard to give fixed timelines until we deeply engage with one site and understand the requirements. Building will be around 6 months, subject to the lead time for any equipment. COVID has blown equipment timelines out of the water. Selling is more likely to be into 2023.
With best regards

Wow two more years.

I'm thinking Mark is talking a "go it alone" basis there, that timeline would likely compress in some form of partnership with a bigger mineral sands player. Beauty of MDL's business model is they are not limited to a single physical site or source, they could  develope two, three, or more projects simultaneously with the right partners.

Up to now we have heard this FOR YEARS AND YEARS by Don Lay and Saxon. "Location...funding...monazite sourcing...off take" always the same wording - but nothing has really moved forward!! All talk, no significant action! Meanwhile our competitors ACT concretly! I am really disappointed by this company and its slowness. I will probably sell my position.

Read ausheds post!  He is right on with what  is what.  Technical assessment coming out in the next couple of weeks, then the Lifecycle assessment. Everything will come together and then  possibly a partnership of the MDL process with a Company that has an existing supply of Monazite and a Plant.   You might miss out on a huge SP re-write!

Virtually everything written re RE investment has been written bottom up, very much focused on the physical "resource", with every wannabe making huge efforts to spin their "resource" as the best thing since sliced bread. Of course most have done their pilot plant & flow sheets producing a wonderful set of numbers that proves just how profitable they are going to be ...more

You are confusing "noise" from the carnival barkers with action, and lack of "noise" from the likes of Amanda Lacaze, Charles Lew & Mark Saxon as inaction. These people understand sustainable business is not created in glossy PDF's or Rooter's interviews, RE has always been an opaque industry with <15% product traded and convoluted supply chains, very little of ...more
