RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:$48 Million Investment by Eric SprottI'm going to disappoint you!
The gold bearing fluids followed one deep seated fracture system to surface. They are not magma related, gabbro or otherwise. They are collision related (metamorphic/orogenic).
The most likely mechanism of transport was a molecular complex with sulphur, soluble, along with silica and carbonate, in superheated water. When the sulphur complexes destabilized ~3 Km down the insoluble gold was liberated and the sulphur combined with free metals to form sulphides. The dissolved silica and carbonate in the cooling water precipitated over everything else leaving behind Gold and sulphides in Quartz-carbonate gangue.
Over the last 430 million years the top 3 km has eroded away leaving the precipitated gold in Quartz-carbonate near surface (the presence of sulphides is considered a good indicator).
None of this has anything to do with gabbros except maybe as a source of the gold down deep. The superheated water was of metamorphic origin.
